Shopping for perfume is really exciting; whether it’s for yourself or for a gift, perfume is often a really personal way of expressing your personality. You don’t want to just smell average; you want to smell amazing. Perfume and aftershave smell different on each person; it’s all to do with the balance of chemicals in your skin. What smells fantastic on you may smell pretty awful on your sister. Likewise, what smells average on your dad may smell great on your boyfriend. There are different types of perfume scent; so whether you’re a floral romantic girl, or a sporty active guy, you can guarantee there’s the perfect scent out there for you. The challenge is to find a scent that makes you stand out from the crowd; a scent that, when smelled by others, reminds them of you. Something that will make your best friend go, “yep, Daisy was here”.

Perfume not only comes in a variety of scents; it also comes with varying price tags. Some people may opt for a cheaper scent, feeling that there’s little point in shelling out hard-earned cash on what is essentially, something that doesn’t last. However, I’m here to tell you that it can actually be a great investment to purchase a more expensive scent, to leave you standing out from the crowd.

Expensive perfume often comes in a tiny bottle; you may be wondering why you’re paying over the odds for so little in return; well it’s simple. The more expensive brands of perfume tend to be stronger, meaning that they last longer. With an expensive scent, a little goes a long way, so you don’t have to worry about your perfume or aftershave running out quickly.

Buying a cheaper scent may seem like a great saving at the time, but they often wear off very fast, meaning that by the time you get out of the house, the scent has often disappeared completely. More expensive perfumes however, linger on throughout the day, leaving you feeling and smelling fantastic the whole day long.

Not only that, expensive perfumes are made with a greater range of ingredients. They often comprise of a wonderful heady mixture of ingredients that, when applied to the skin, release their scents at varying times of the day, meaning that they develop and mature as the day goes on. Time will unlock each gradual scent, leaving the wearer smelling great, and those around in awe of the attractive smell.

Of course, perfume isn’t reserved for women. Men can smell great too with the right aftershave. Here are some great ones to really help your man stand out from the crowd.
